Hill Country Author Set to Fire Up the Slopes!

What would you do if you found a million-dollar necklace in a drawer of old socks?

That’s the question Angela Smith answers in her story “Burn on the Western Slope”, a contemporary romantic suspense novel set on the ski slopes of Montana.

“I’ve always known I wanted to write. It’s one of the reasons I decided not to go to college. It took me a while to get where I am, but I don’t regret a minute of the journey!”

“Burn on the Western Slope” is about a woman who inherits a condo in the mountains, and then discovers her inheritance includes a stash of stolen jewels. Throw in a devious ex-boyfriend and an undercover FBI agent, and you’re bound to find trouble along with your jewels!

“I’m in love with the mountains. They hold a special place in my heart, and I knew I had to write about them. I don’t believe in writing what you know, but what you love. If you’re passionate about something, you’ll do anything to learn more about what you love.”

Angela is also an Advanced Certified Paralegal in Criminal Litigation, where she has focused the last 15 years of her career assisting in administration with criminal prosecution.

“I love what I do, but I couldn’t make it through my days if I didn’t write. It isn’t always easy to write suspense when your life is full of it, but I have always kept my writing career separate from my full-time job. It’s like I’m a totally different person when I get absorbed in my writing.”

Angela started writing stories at a young age, but she didn’t focus on pursuing a career for many years until she knew that something missing would never go away if she didn’t write. She kept it a secret for a long time, but now admits she knows she’s exactly where she should be.

“To be walking along the path you are supposed to be walking is a tremendous experience. I encourage everyone to follow their dreams.”
